maui hawaii wedding videogroahers

Hey there, we are Kent and Darlene and we love making films!

Darlene hails from Cleveland and I lived in Chicago my entire life before we made the awesome decision to move to Maui. We truly love filmmaking! Whether it’s a beautiful video about your wedding day or an awesome video for your business we just love to make films.

Darlene’s background is in art and advertising, with a little culinary tossed in, and I have been a film nerd since the age of 8 when my parents bought their first Super-8mm movie camera. I went to film school and have worked professionally in film/video/digital media for over 20 years.

Some important Kent & Darlene facts: We take A LOT of photos of Miso, our cat we rescued from the beach. We love documentaries! We do most of the typical Hawaii things like snorkeling, paddleboarding, surfing and hiking. We love antiques and things from the past, especially Midcentury Modern items. Most importantly, we got married on September 24th 2014!

Give us a call or shoot us an email, we would love to talk about the awesome film we are going to make for you!

Aloha :)

What do you do when you are a wedding filmmaker and it’s time for your own wedding? There was no way we weren’t going to have our own wedding filmed but we also wanted to be involved in the process. The solution was simple, have friends in the industry do the filming so we could do our own edit. Our pals Ryota and Yukio from Driftwood Films were nice enough to film for us and we are forever grateful. It was SO WEIRD to edit our own wedding film but also a lot of fun! We spent several days sitting together in front of the computer working on the edit. This isn’t the most efficient way to edit video but we sure enjoyed reliving our wedding together. At the last second we decided to film all of the amazing polaroids our guests took at the wedding. It ending up being such a charming way to end the film :)

Oh yeah, we also made a second wedding video for ourselves. This one is obviously a little classier!
